EUDAT Council

The EUDAT Council is the highest authority of EUDAT and has responsibility for all-important decisions. It controls EUDAT’s activities in scientific, technical and administrative matters. It approves workplan of activity and new members, adopts the budgets and reviews expenditure. The Council is assisted by the EUDAT Board and the EUDAT Secretariat. The EUDAT Council is composed of one representative per Member, each with a number of votes determined by their membership tier (1 vote for Observing and Thematic Members, 2 for Contributing Members, 5 for Leading Members). Decisions are taken by a two-thirds majority of votes cast, with a quorum of two-thirds of Members. The Council elects a Chair from among its Members for a two-year term.

EUDAT Board

The EUDAT Board consists of seven representatives of the Members, appointed by the EUDAT Council for a term set by the Council. The Board acts on behalf of the Council and reports to it on all major decisions, performance and use of resources.

EUDAT User Board

The EUDAT User Board, also known as the EUDAT User Panel, is set up to bring forward a user-oriented perspective to the evolution of EUDAT and its services and to provide the EUDAT Members with advice and recommendations on its service development roadmap and user engagement strategy.

EUDAT Secretariat

The EUDAT Secretariat is responsible for managing, on a daily basis, the EUDAT CDI Agreement and for coordinating the development and operation of the EUDAT infrastructure. The EUDAT Secretariat is composed of six staff members responsible for the management, the administration, the operational and technical coordination of the EUDAT infrastructure and the User Engagement and Outreach. The activities of the EUDAT Secretariat are funded through the annual funding contributions of the EUDAT Members and defined and monitored by the EUDAT Council.
