Jan Bumberger is Scientific Coordinator and Head of the Research Data Management (RDM) at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ (Leipzig, Germany) and leads the research group Environmental Sensor and Information Systems. He is a member of the steering group of the Helmholtz Research Field Earth & Environment DataHub and contributes to the development of cross-centre data services and FAIR-aligned digital ecosystems. Since 2023, he has strategically coordinated the development of the eLTER RI cyberinfrastructure and related ENVRI-FAIR activities. His work focuses on monitoring and integration of heterogeneous environmental data, data management pipelines, interoperable information systems, and advanced analytics and signal processing for multiparametric sensor networks.
