The CLARIN European Research Infrastructure Consortium (CLARIN ERIC) has an opening for the part-time position of Director for User Involvement. The chief responsibility of the Director for User Involvement (UI) is to stimulate, facilitate and coordinate the use of the CLARIN infrastructure, its language resources, and its language technology services by SSH scholars on a European scale.

EUDAT – PRACE Summer School 2019

The EUDAT-PRACE Summer School on managing scientific data from analysis to long term archiving, kindly hosted by the the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) of Trieste (Italy), welcomed a total of 26 Masters and PhD students and researchers from all over the world from diverse disciplines, such as computer & information sciences, earth & environmental sciences, HPC, biological sciences, chemical sciences, the clinical medicine field and many others.

Why is FAIR Data important?

As our world has continually become more digitalised, we have begun facing new challenges for a digitalised world. One of these challenges, which has gained attention over the last 6 years, is how to handle data. The ‘FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship’ were published in Scientific Data in 2016, laying out a set of principles to make sure that the large amounts of data being created every year can be found and reused by the right people to bring continual benefits to society.
