EUDAT has set up a mechanism for an organisation to actively follow and contribute to EUDAT activities and developments from the inside as well as being an observing member of the EUDAT General Council. Currently EUDAT has 2 observing partners:

The EUDAT project is developing a collaborative data infrastructure (CDI) for European research communities. The EUDAT services and technology appraisal work package is responsible for translating the services that were identified as being vital for the research communities into concrete services offered by EUDAT. This document reports on the work and progress in the second year of the service-building process.
4.2. Creating and joining a federation
As explained in previous section it is possible to connect two (or more) iRODS zones to each other, enabling users from each zone to access remote resources. There is a good step-by-step federation manual prepared by Elena Erastova.

D9.8: Final Report on Provision of Staging Support
This document presents an extension to the service architecture proposed in the EUDAT deliverable D9.4 [EUDAT D9.4] that enables a user to get easy access to different storage systems such as IBM TSM (see glossary for abbreviations) or HPSS. Hereby the document focuses on features for integrity checking based on check- summing and scheduling of staging requests to achieve the best possible quality of service. The architecture provides a front-end API following the REST paradigm over HTTP.
