EUDAT Summer School 2023 was hosted between 26 and 30 of June 2023 in Kajaani, Finland. This edition strengthened the skills required to excel in data management, getting the participants geared up to manage and process data throughout the full, research-data lifecycle.

EUDAT Summer School: where data management meets the next generation of researchers

From 3 to 7 July 2017, EUDAT organised its first Summer School in the stunning surroundings of Crete, kindly hosted by the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH), a unique chance to dive into the world of Research Data Management. The EUDAT Summer School welcomed a total of 39 participants (around 70 applications were received!) comprising Master and PhD students and researchers coming from all over the world and generally based at European Institutions. This report summarises, in context, the goals of the EUDAT project and analyses the service usage patterns distilled from the (ongoing) user requirements capture process. It uses these patterns to motivate and prioritise the choice of core services essential to the successful rollout of the EUDAT collaborative data infrastructure; a high-level plan for the delivery of these services is presented in the final chapter.
