Services & Support

Research communities from different disciplines have different ambitions and approaches – particularly with respect to data organization and content but they share one common point: they all have basic data service requirements.

6.2. Micro-services

As explained above rules are composed of calls to other rules or micro-services. A micro-service is a "unit of work" in iRODS: it represents the simplest, atomic operation. We have seen that the iRODS provides a comprehensive set of such micro-services, for instance to calculate the checksum or replicate the data. From the provided micro-services quite complex workflows can be build to reflect complex data management policies.

D4.10: Activity Report, year 3

Deliverable D4.10 reports on the progress and achievements of WP4 since month 24 of EUDAT2020 with respect to task 4.3 “Community Engagement” and task 4.4 “External Research & Standard Organizations Liaison”. It describes the progress that was made with respect to the EUDAT working group process, and the interaction with the EUDAT Data Pilots. In addition, EUDAT’s contacts with the RDA and the ESFRI clusters are described. Since this is the last update of this series, we will provide an overview of the results that were achieved.
