Welcome to the March edition of the EUDAT News Bulletin! These short email bulletins are sent monthly to keep you updated about the latest news and developments from EUDAT. Spring is in the Air - A check-list for Communities

News Bulletin January 2014

January brings with it lots of new activities from EUDAT including the open Call for Collaboration Projects offering free resources and expertise to pilot collaboration projects as part of its Collaborative Data Infrastructure. Research communities, projects and individual researchers are invited to make use of its data services and should apply before 26th February 2014. Part of the data services referred to in this call are B2SHARE a web-based service for storing and sharing small research data sets, and B2FIND a simple and user-friendly portal to find research data collections stored in EUDAT data centres and other repositories. B2FIND harvests metadata from diverse sources, maps it, and makes it publically available through its cross-disciplinary catalogue. These two services are now fully deployed. Have a look by yourself! More details on EUDAT's current and future service development and deployment are included in the service Roadmap.

News Bulletin December 2013

As the calendar year comes to a close, EUDAT is embarking on its third year with an even stronger focus on communities, services (both existing and new), training and collaboration. As part of its continuous drive to extend its network on both the community and geographical levels, EUDAT welcomes three new Associated Partners on board: the Greek Research and Technology Network (GRNET), the Distributed Research Infrastructure for Hydro-Meteorology (DRIHM) and the Data Infrastructure for Chemical Safety (diXa).

News Bulletin September 2013

Have you registered for the upcoming EUDAT Conference yet? This year it will be held in Rome on 28-30 October. The conference will provide a great opportunity for everyone who is working with digital data to engage with EUDAT members and other data experts. International e-infrastructure cooperation and collaboration benefits are high on the agenda, with keynotes by Richard Frackowiak (on the Human Brain flagship project), Ewan Birney (on Annotating the Human Genome), Maryline Lengert (on Helix-Nebula the Science Cloud), and a view from across the Atlantic from Bill Michener (on DataONE). Progress reports on a series of Research Data Alliance (RDA) activities and working groups will round up the event.

News Bulletin July-August 2013

The last few weeks have been particularly exciting for EUDAT as we are now ramping up the first set of EUDAT services to be launched as part of the Collaborative Data Infrastructure. These services, which will be presented in detail at the next EUDAT conference, will position EUDAT in the e-Infrastructure landscape as the domain of registered and described data allowing research communities to better manage and preserve their data, and to make this data more visible (and available) to others...
