The EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure (CDI) has appointed Per Öster, Director of Research Infrastructures at CSC - IT Center for Science, to lead the EOSC-Hub project as Project Director. This agreement was made during the EUDAT CDI Council which was hosted by the IN2P3 Computing Centre, in Lyon, France, on 21 November 2017.
The DI4Rwill take place on November 30th and December 1st 2017 in Brussels, right after the EOSCpilot 1st Stakeholder Engagement Event, aiming to bring together researchers, developers and service providers, in order to brainstorm under the theme “Connecting the building blocks for Open Science”.

SeaDataCloud is a new project funded by the European Commission to considerably advance the SeaDataNet Services and increase their usage, adopting cloud and High Performance Computing technology for better performance. EUDAT participates in SeaDataCloud through 5 sites which joined the project as partners. These 5 EUDAT centres will establish a common cloud and computing environment that will be integrated with the SeaDataNet data management infrastructure to provide central caching and cloud computing facilities...
The CoreTrustSeal Board offers all interested data repositories a core-level certification based on the DSA–WDS Core Trustworthy Data Repositories Requirements catalogue and procedures. CoreTrustSeal Data Repository certification replaces the DSA certification and the WDS certification of Regular Members.
The first EMODnet hackathon, 15-17 November 2017 – Antwerp, will offer coders, developers, data enthusiasts, marine/maritime companies, students and entrepreneurs the chance to play with archived and near-real time marine open data to create prize-winning innovative applications in the areas of Marine Environment, Blue Economy and Public Knowledge or Services.
