The EOSC Association, coordinator of EOSC Gravity and EOSC United, and four newly launched projects (EOSC4ALL, EOSC-CONNECT, EOSC-Marine, and EOSC Mesh) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). A central focus of the collaboration is evolving the federation’s technical architecture. The participating projects will share technical knowledge, align interface standards and operational practices, and integrate federating capabilities.

This collaboration will allow the establishment of a joint framework to align technical architectures, governance, engagement strategies, and sustainability efforts across the EOSC ecosystem. The partnership aims to achieve a greater impact on the build-up of the EOSC Federation than any single project acting in isolation.

The e-Infra Assembly welcomes this MoU, which brings key assembly members - GÉANT (coordinating EOSC4ALL), EUDAT (partner in EOSC4All and EOSC Mesh), EGI (coordinating EOSC Mesh), and OpenAIRE (partner in EOSC Mesh) - into direct alignment with the EOSC Association. This collaboration marks a fundamental step toward eliminating fragmentation, streamlining federated service delivery, and securing a sustainable, multi-hub digital ecosystem for researchers across the continent.

As one of the first candidate EOSC nodes and one of the first to reach production status, EUDAT continues to further commit its efforts towards supporting the development and growth of the EOSC Federation via its participation in the projects EOSC Mesh and EOSC4ALL, and with various EUDAT Members’ involvement with EOSC-CONNECT and EOSC Marine.

"In line with EUDAT’s new 10-year collaboration agreement and strategy, we are ready to contribute to the technical capacities, operational expertise, and core service infrastructure for delivering an integrated, open EOSC ecosystem, alongside our partners in the e-Infrastructure Assembly within these new projects,” said  EUDAT Head of the Secretariat and EUDAT EOSC Node Coordinator Wim Hugo.
