Often termed “a data wave” or “data tsunami”, the sheer force of production, storage and dissemination of data has left researchers in need to best utilise the data they produce. Now imagine…a set of research data management services that can support the data management needs regardless of the specificities of each research domain; a unique interoperable data infrastructure for research.
Through its data storage and management services, EUDAT steps in and ensures the connectedness and usage of data across disciplines.
As a one-of-a-kind European effort, with over 20 of Europe’s leading research organisations, data and computing centres teaming up, EUDAT offers a collaborative and supportive space for the scientific community in Europe. Yet the linchpin of EUDAT lies not in its data nodes and repositories, but in its scientific and research community.
In its sixth edition, the EUDAT Conference presents a flagship event for those within the EUDAT community, as well as for leading data researchers, innovators, and enthusiasts in Europe and beyond. During the three days, get prepared to meet those at the forefront of research data management in diverse fields.
At the edge of the Black Forest, the EUDAT Conference will serve as a forum for data and research, with opportunities to learn about the latest developments and opportunities to further enlarge your network. Several panel discussions, exhibitors, and demonstrators await.
As part of its regular programme, the first day will be dedicated to sessions that showcase RDM solutions that address the research data lifecycle. A poster parade and exhibition will bring you face-to-face with some of the innovators in the field and allow networking opportunities. As a new aspect of this year’s conference, there will be a call for demonstrations where a select few will be able to demonstrate their solutions to the conference audience.
The second and third day of the conference will then be dedicated towards providing a holistic view of the fast-changing landscape. Topics such as EOSC, the Data Spaces, the connection with HPC and handling sensitive data will be tackled in dedicated sessions that provide a view of developments on a European level. At the same time a session will also be dedicated to looking at individual national experiences and best practices providing various perspectives from the EUDAT members.
Within the exhibition space of Centre for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, participants will have an opportunity to display their discoveries and services in the form of posters or through demonstrations, ensuring a collaborative and informative atmosphere. EUDAT Conference is the next nod of your open science journey.
Whether you’re a seasoned researcher, or with a keen interest in the data services, this is your call to join an international community and contribute to the conversation on research and innovation.
Let’s connect over glühwein and pretzels while learning the latest news on research data practices and innovation, as well as European and global-wide accomplishments in the field. Accelerate your research or promote your data management services over at the EUDAT Conference 2024 in Karlruhe, 3-5 December 2024!
