EUDAT’s B2SAFE, B2HANDLE, B2FIND and B2STAGE services are supporting the H2020 project Large-scale EXecution for Industry & Society (LEXIS) in creating a distributed data infrastructure (DDI) for the distributed computing infrastructure they are developing.

The LEXIS project provides a platform for optimised execution of cloud-HPC workflows, reducing computation time and increasing energy efficiency. The project will support both scientific and industrial users with the steep learning curve of using High Performance Computing (HPC) for orchestration of computational/data-driven workflows and research data management, providing a user-friendly LEXIS web portal, as a unique entry point. The portal will provide access to data and workflow-handling, but also a built in business functionalities for HPC-as-a-service such as fine-granular accounting, billing, and access rights management.

Not only does LEXIS make HPC more accessible to the average user, but also leveraging EUDAT’s data management solutions, it will provide functionalities for research data management following the FAIR principles (“Findable, Interoperable, Accessible, Reusable”), e.g. DOI acquisition, which helps to publish and disseminate open data products.
