EUDAT Ltd was formally established and registered as a limited liability company under Finnish law on 27 February 2018.
The purpose of the new company is to operate on a non-profit making basis as the voice of European organisations working together as part of the EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure in order to provide services related to scientific and research data storage and lifecycle management. “The establishment of EUDAT Ltd is a first important milestone towards the consolidation of EUDAT services and network, which have been supported by two EC grants since 2011, under FP7 and H2020” says Damien Lecarpentier, Programme Director at CSC and Head of the current EUDAT Secretariat. |
Within the next few days, the Company will formally seek membership of the EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure Agreement with a view to host its Secretariat functions (management, operations & technical coordination, user engagement & outreach) and represent the CDI network at European level.
