Trust and security are becoming fundamental requirements across the entire research data lifecycle, particularly as research infrastructures increasingly support sensitive data, distributed computing, AI workloads and cross-border collaboration. This joint EUDAT/ICCFN session explores how research data can be securely accessed, processed, shared and preserved across federated infrastructures while meeting requirements for privacy, data protection, sovereignty and regulatory compliance.
The session brings together the research data management and infrastructure perspective of EUDAT with cybersecurity research and emerging technologies from the ICCFN community. Contributions may address Trusted Research Environments (TREs), secure processing of sensitive and personal data, privacy-preserving technologies, confidential computing, data-access governance, authentication and authorization, secure data transfer, auditing and traceability, and practical approaches for connecting protected data environments with HPC, cloud and AI infrastructures.
Particular attention will be given to solutions that move beyond isolated secure environments towards interoperable and federated models in which sensitive data can be used for advanced computation without compromising the security or governance requirements of the data provider.
