This session, organised by the e-Infrastructure Assembly (EGI, EUDAT, GÉANT, OpenAIRE and PRACE) brings together the major pan-European e-Infrastructures onto one stage to present their new strategies, explain how their roles are shifting, and debate what sustainability actually looks like from here.
For more than a decade, these organisations have quietly underwritten European research: putting FAIR and open science into practice as research data volumes exploded, opening up computational capacity, and building the networks that connect researchers across borders. Most began as time-limited projects. All now face the question of how to endure.
The panel takes on the hard ones. How do you stay viable in a tightening funding landscape? Are Europe's e-Infrastructures genuinely AI-ready? Where do they sit in an increasingly crowded technological and political ecosystem... and what falls through the gaps between them? Where do the five new strategies converge, and where do they pull apart?
