A Roadmap for the European Open Science Cloud

Just a few days ago the High Level Expert Group on the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) released its first report, A Cloud on the 2020 Horizon, after an extensive round of consultations with key stakeholders.  The report is a wake-up call for the Commission and EU member States invited to close discussions about the “perceived need” for an EOSC while moving swiftly towards realizing the “first phase of a federated, globally accessible environment where researchers, innovators, companies and citizens can publish, find and re-use each other's data and tools for research, innovation and educational purposes”...

e-infrastructures: Bringing research to the next level

Have you ever wondered what exactly an “e-infrastructure” is and how it changes your life? The European Commission, specifically the e-Infrastructure unit in the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology (DG CONNECT), recently launched a publication entitled “ E-INFRASTRUCTURES: Making Europe the best place for Research and Innovation”. Readers are taken on a journey by John and his research colleagues from all over Europe, who use fundamental facilities offered by European e-infrastructures to conduct their research and do excellent science. When you get to end of the...

Having troubles writing your Data Management Plan? We have it covered in our upcoming webinar!

As several research funders are carrying out (Open) Data Pilots, projects and researchers are more often than ever required to deliver a Data Management Plan or DMP. The DMP is a useful instrument for researchers to reflect on and communicate about the way they will deal with their data.  EUDAT, jointly with OpenAIRE, has organised the webinar "How to write a Data Management Plan", to be held on Thursday 7 July 2016, at 11:00 CEST.  Sarah Jones from the Digital Curation Centre and Marjan Grootveld, senior policy consultant at Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS), will provide a detailed overview of the...

Are you a USER or a JOINER?

EUDAT enables European researchers and practitioners from any research discipline and any geographical location to preserve, find, access, and process research data in a trusted environment. EUDAT is building a European collaborative data infrastructure (CDI), a distributed network of data-related services, provided by Europe’s most powerful scientific data centres, which enhance research collaborations based on electronic data. Furthermore, thanks to these integrated infrastructures, research communities will be able to collaborate with each other across Europe and even globally. What is the EUDAT CDI (Collaborative Data...
