The first EUDAT Call for Data Pilots closed on the 10th of October 2015. 24 applications from a range of research infrastructures, communities and organizations from across Europe were received. 8 applications from Earth sciences, energy and environment, 6 from Biomedical and life sciences, 6 from Social Sciences and Humanities and 4 from Physical Sciences and Engineering (according to the ESFRI classification).
Based on the information included in the applications, and if all are eligible to be implemented, the potential user audience is close to 40,000 users with a cumulative storage resource request of up to 4.3PB. The applications are now under evaluation. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in November with a planned start date of the selected pilots in January 2016.
The 2nd EUDAT call for data Pilots is already under preparation. It will be launched in the second half of 2016 offering a further opportunity to communities and infrastructures that did not apply in this round. If you have any question on it please contact us at info@eudat.eu.
