The EUDAT project is developing a collaborative data infrastructure (CDI) for European research communities. These user communities play a prominent role in defining the CDI. They are actively involved in gathering the requirements for this CDI, and in building and shaping the common data services (which will be deployed and operated at the service provider partner sites). This requirements analysis and development process is the backbone of EUDAT. It is vital as it ensures that EUDAT delivers services which are needed and which will be actively used by the current user communities and beyond.

This document describes the service building process and the current status of the first generation of services that will be offered by EUDAT.
